Christmas in October
Well it’s that time of year again and Kingdom Christmas Lights is ready! Now that we’re here, 2021 will be remembered as a rebuilding year for our organization. As a company, we recently purchased a 5 acre property along the highway where our brick and mortar office/warehouse is located. In a few months, we plan to start construction on our multipurpose facility here also. This 60’ x 100’ building will become the home of our new Church and moonlight as “Santa’s Workshop” for commercial products. These plans, His blessings and the Pure Joy on your faces is what has us FIRED UP this Christmas.
Some of you know that we have decorated homes for Halloween. As a Christian company, we certainly don’t celebrate Halloween however we do participate by decorating our house for Christmas early. Laura and I dress up as Santa and Mrs. Claus, the kids put on their reindeer and elf costumes while we play Christmas music and pass out candy canes to the kids. That’s how WE roll. Our clients however have also become creative and changed out their Christmas bulbs with Purple, Blue, Orange or Green for Halloween and then we return in November for a small fee to change the bulbs back to Christmas. We’re installing all through October so get on the schedule NOW!!!
For the more traditional Christmas clients, it does seem that people “lit up” their homes earlier and earlier every season. One of the most popular reasons for decorating in October is fueled by our Hindu population that celebrates “Diwali”. Much like Easter, Diwali is the autumn’s “new moon” festival and they celebrate for 5 days, light over darkness and good over evil. As a Christian, we celebrate Christ on the Sunday that precedes the first full moon after March 21st. It’s not my intention to draw a comparison between the two with the exception of we all want to light up our properties to reflect an outward expression of our beliefs, faith and/or traditions. Let’s light up Houston together!!!
Now let’s get down to brass tax. Unfortunately we at Kingdom Christmas Lights can no longer accept any lighting projects under $500 in November. Many returning existing clients have been enjoying their lights and it’s common to have bills under our minimum . This year we simply have had no choice but to implement this minimum but it’s only for the month of November and half of December. With this being said, let’s get your home lit up again and let’s do it now so you’re shining bright for all the world to see! Laura and I consider our existing clients like family and it's heartbreaking to potentially lose them after all we have been through together. Let’s find some common ground and get installed now!!!
